Forward Ladies meet at the Prince!
Tracy Sheldon and Faye Smith kickstart 2013 supporting business women in Sheffield with a FREE Forward Ladies café at the Prince of Wales, Ecclesall Road South this Thursday, 31 January 11am to 1pm with free personal branding, social media, marketing, career and finance clinics.
After a difficult 2012 suffering a serious illness and major surgery, regional manager Tracy Sheldon was concerned Sheffield’s Forward Ladies could have felt a little neglected. Tracy runs a successful business coaching, marketing and business planning across the UK, but after suffering personal loss and illness was finding it difficult to focus on her passion- running the local Forward Ladies women’s networks, until fellow Forward Lady Faye Smith stepped up to help in true Forward Ladies style.
“I was really struggling with a large area to cover, my own business, family commitments and a serious illness until Faye offered to help me in Sheffield. We had met many times before when we have been speakers for Forward Ladies Positive women’s days but both been so busy never actually considered how helpful we could be to each other; we met for coffee and came up with a dynamic plan for Sheffield – we are both very excited about providing business and professional women with many different events and activities over 2013 and it highlighted why we are both huge supporters of the organisation founded by Etta Cohen over 12 years ago which has grown to be the UK’s largest women’s networking organisation. Forward Ladies support each other, understand each other and share skills, knowledge and experience openly to ensure we build long term relationships and support each other’s businesses.
It’s a really exciting time and we love spreading ‘positivity and inspiration’ to fellow business women; It’s a real pleasure to be able to demonstrate the ethos of Forward Ladies and form a fantastic working partnership of openness, support, integrity and fun.”
Faye agrees, “I have spent the last five years in business helping many women to build their businesses through marketing, PR and personal branding. In fact, my valued Business Link advisor recommended I join Forward Ladies when I first started the grand adventure of self employment just as the recession hit in 2008!
Some of my most successful clients have been those Forward Ladies I have met through the terrific range of events they offer across the region, and networking and personal recommendation is the way I and many of my clients generate most of our business. I had noticed the events in Sheffield had dwindled, so offered Tracey a helping hand. Fortunately, I have a range of fabulous clients who are keen to be involved to inspire, encourage and support other women on their business journey. So coming up in March is a private audience with Julie Kenny of Pyronix, who is this year’s High Sheriff of South Yorkshire. We also have an exclusive tour of this year’s SME businesswomen of the year in Yorkshire, Julia Gash’s “Bag it don’t bin it” printing works, luxurious pampering event at 6* Klasse Spa in Barlborough and chocolate making at multi-award winning green Directions at Stannington coming up as the weather improves- to name a few! There will be more free meet and greet cafes at the Prince of Wales and around the city as momentum builds, it’s all very exciting. Forward Ladies is the largest women’s business network in the UK and they have been played a big part in the success of my own business, it’s a pleasure to give something back.”
This Thursday’s event is FREE with tea and coffee at a special price of £2 per cup (usually £2.75) courtesy of Lisa Gunn, Prince of Wales manager and Forward Lady.
